Privacy

What we collect, and what we don't.

Short version: the app doesn't report on you, the website doesn't track you, and the only personal thing we ever hold is an email address you typed in yourself.

This website

No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no cookies. We don't know who you are or that you were here. The site is served by Cloudflare, who keep their own operational logs of requests to their network.

If you ask for a beta key

We hold the email address you give us, and we use it for exactly one thing: sending you a key and a download link when a place opens up. We don't sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list. It sits in a database we run on Cloudflare, alongside the date you signed up and nothing else — not your IP address, not your browser, not where you came from.

Keys and any future purchases are handled by Polar, who act as the merchant of record and hold your order details under their own privacy policy. Ask us to delete your address at any time and we will.

The app on your Mac

Patina collects no usage data, sends no telemetry, and has no analytics of any kind. Which games you play, which effects you use, and what your settings are never leave your machine.

Patina reaches the network in only two situations, both of which you start:

  • When you download a shader pack, it fetches those files from that pack's own repository — the same public address you'd visit yourself.
  • When you activate a licence, it checks that key against our server. That exchange identifies the licence, not you or your activity.

Diagnostics stay local. When you use the option to copy what Patina knows about a game, that goes to your clipboard for you to look at and decide whether to send — nothing is transmitted on its own.
